Who Would Buy This: Those shopping for a DVD recorder with the ability to copy VHS tapes to DVDs would be interested in purchasing the Magnavox ZV427MG9.
Things we liked: The Magnavox ZV427MG9, first of all has great value in the sheer function for which it was intended for, that being transferring VHS tapes to DVD discs. The reason being is that most VHS tapes are coming to or will be coming to the end of their lifespan. The aveage life of a VHS tape is around ten years, therefore someone wanting to preserve those tapes and memories should begin copying them without delay.
The Magnavox ZV427MG9 will do the job very easily and at a low cost when compared to having it done outside your home commercially. The unit is really great for those who really aren’t all that tech savvy, as all the wiring is in the machine for the transfer, no computer is necessary, only the unit and a TV set.
It’s a good thing to know the length of the VHS tape so you can select the speed to make sure you can get the whole tape onto a single disc. Once knowing this it is just a matter of putting in the VHS tape and a DVD, pressing the dubbing button and the Magnavox ZV427MG9 will then copy to DVD. At the end of the copying process go to the TV on screen menu to finalize using your remote. Finalizing will allow you to play the new DVD on any other DVD player.
The Magnavox ZV427MG9 makes very good quality copies, limited only by the quality of the original tape itself and it is very easy to execute. If you are considering the Magnavox ZV427MG9 you may not want to wait as these types of recorders are getting hard to find. Again the fact is many of the tapes will be lost soon therefore no need for these kind of recorders. Those in the market for a DVD player may want to go a few dollars more and have the option to preserve the old VHS tapes of the kids and grandchildren. All in all the Magnavox ZV427MG9 makes good simple copies at an affordable price.
Things we did not like About the: Some of the old VHS tapes were six hour or eight hour tapes so yu have to use multiple DVDs to hold the content of one DVD. This however is not the fault of the Magnavox ZV427MG9 it is just a fact that DVDs will not hold the content that the old tapes do. Simply label your discs one, two or three and your good to go.
Guarantee: Magnavox offers a one year warranty.
Is the ZV427MG9 worth the money? I think The Magnavox ZV427MG9 is a good buy, both for what it does and the price.
